Hulk Hogan reveals how much Sylvester Stallone paid him for Rocky 3 after a hard bargain
WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is considered by many to be one of the greatest stars that WWE has ever had. During the peak of his stardom, WWE made him the face of the industry for almost a decade following his arrival in the company. In addition to being a WWE superstar, Hogan also tried his hand at acting with none other than Sylvester Stallone.
When talking to Joe Rogan on The Joe Rogan Experience, the Hulkster recalled his interaction with Stallone. He said that he was specially selected by Sylvester Stallone to be a part of his movie. After the two tried a scene before finalizing the deal, Stallone made Hogan an offer of $10,000 for his role in the upcoming Rocky III.
However, Hulk Hogan told Joe that, being a businessman, he countered the offer, saying that he needed $15,000. After a hard bargain, Hogan remembered that they had reached a deal for $14,000 for his role in the movie. The Hulkster signed all the contracts with Stallone for his role in Rocky III and accepted the payment after a bargain. The movie came out in 1982 and received huge acclaim from fans.
The movie continues to be an iconic movie for fans to this day. On the other hand, Hulk Hogan would rule the wrestling industry for the next decade as he won multiple championships and had acclaimed feuds. Hogan would shock the world again in the 1990s after he left WWE. He later joined WCW before turning heel for the first time in his career.
Hulk Hogan talks about being in a vicious cycle of painkiller addiction
Being a professional wrestler means that your body is constantly put through torture, which might be fatal in the long run. There have been numerous instances where years of injuries have cost wrestlers dearly. One resort wrestlers take to escape body pain is taking painkillers and prescribed medicines. The former multi-time champion Hulk Hogan is no exception to this.
While talking to ‘Muscle and Health’, Hogan said that there was a point in his life when he was addicted to painkillers to reduce the pain from the multiple surgeries he went through. Hogan said, “I had doctors writing me prescription after prescription, and all of a sudden, it became a vicious cycle.”
The WWE Hall of Famer added, saying, “I was hitting the pain pills hard because I’d had to endure 25 procedures, including 10 to my back, facial operations from being kicked, knee and hip replacements, and abdominal and shoulder surgeries.”
